Le peu de matière

Ex-Corpus was an annual performance festival set in the gallery Ex-Machina, in Geneva. Performances were scheduled every other hour. I performed a very simple, repetitive and yet incongruous gesture: knitting. Since I sat on a chair between the space reserved for the performances and the buffet, and because my presence wasn’t mentioned in the official programme, people kept wondering about my motivations to perform that action.

After 9 hours of plain stitches and passionate conversations on gender lines, I ended up with a 2 meters-long beige piece of knitting.
